Yayasan Inovasi Malaysia (YIM)
Conceived upon the collaboration with Yayasan Inovasi Malaysia (YIM), SME Corp Malaysia, Biji-biji Initiative and Me.reka, Ruang Reka brims with innovation and its walls emanates with enthusiasm for the 21st Century. Ruang Reka is a makerspace built to connect changemakers within communities while and giving give creators access to a network of regional tools, resources, opportunities, and expertise. Bridging the gap between changemakers, community members and important resources, Ruang Reka fosters a culture of innovation and education, especially within the underprivileged communities. The makerspace has been equipped with products in the High Impact Programme (HIP 6) ecosystem to address issues in the community.
A 4-week NGO@Makerthon Programme, hosted as a collaborative effort by Yayasan Inovasi Malaysia, SME Corp Malaysia, Biji-biji Initiative and Me.reka, brought makers and communities together to empower local NGOs with digital and entrepreneurial mindsets. The programme focused on upskilling NGOs that currently work with PPR communities to find solutions and tackle challenges by utilizing STIE skills from the HIP6 solutions. Ruang Reka is aimed to connect communities to jobs, networks and governments’ guidance. The space acts as a platform for organizations or communities by enabling them to craft innovative solutions that will alleviate community-centric challenges with digital technologies and 21st-century skills.
